
East Field is the home of the Glens Falls Greenjackets and former home if the Adirondack Lumberjacks, Glens Falls White Sox, Adirondack Red Birds and Glens Falls Tigers, The Detroit Tigers Minor League Team in the 1980s. The ballpark has a capacity of 9,000 people and opened in 1980. East Field is also the former home of the Glens Falls Indians high school football team and known as "Indian Field" by many players and fans. East Field also has hosted the NJCAA (National Junior College Athletic Association) baseball World Series and the local Glens Falls Golden Eagles baseball games. East Field is located on the East section of the city (closer to the Hudson Falls) section of town. East Field is also the home of the biggest fireworks celebration for the 4th of July in the city of Glens Falls (which is typically held on July 3). The event consistently draws about 5,000 spectators inside and many thousand more outside.
